The IIMC Alumni Association of Bangladesh chapter hosted the closing meet of the first phase of IIMCAA’s annual alumni meets named KOO Connections 2022 in Dhaka.
The series of annual meets started at IIMC HQ in New Delhi on February 27 and covered a total of 26 cities in the first phase before the valedictory meet at Dhaka Club.
The second leg of meets will cover Canada, Germany, Australia, Nepal and a few other countries where alumni of IIMC are settled in large numbers.
IIMC is a mass communication training institute run under the aegis of the Indian ministry of information and broadcasting in the national capital.
Bangladesh’s Information & Broadcasting minister Dr Hasan Mahmud delivered an address at the function as the chief guest. The special guest on the occasion was Indian High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami.
IIMCAA’s former President Prasad Sanyal, Oikko CEO Apu Mahfuz, Azizul Islam Bhuiyan and Zahid Newaz Khan also addressed the meet.
Three Bangladeshi journalists received oikko.com.bd – IIMCAA-BD Media Awards on Bangladesh-India relations.
These awards were given for the last three years since due the ongoing pandemic, a meet couldn’t be organised in the last two years.
Team Undercover of News 24, Raheed Ezaz of Prothom Alo and Shamima Dola of News Now Bangla got the awards for 2019, 2020 and 2021 respectively. From next year, awards will be given in Print, TV and Digital categories.
On this occasion, Bangladesh’s I&B Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said, “India-Bangladesh relations have reached a new height in recent years under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Both countries need to work together to foster the relationship between the two countries.”
