That’s why Army Day is celebrated
On this day in 1949, the Indian Army got the first Indian Commander-in-Chief in the form of General KM Cariappa, that is why Army Day is celebrated every year on 15 January. On the occasion of Army Day, at Cariappa Ground, the Army displayed a recreation of all the battles and operations from the 1947-48 war to the 2016 surgical strike. During this, along with senior military officers of the army, diplomats and defense-attaches of friendly countries were also present.
