SRINAGAR: J&K principal secretary (health and medical education) Manoj Kumar Dwivedi on Wednesday launched a mobile application ‘yatra22’ and website ‘www.yatra22.com’ to enable seamless tracking and identification of healthcare facilities for Amarnath pilgrims, as well as do’s and don’ts for them.
The application is available on Google Playstore and iOS platform; it can also be accessed via web browser, Dwivedi said. As many as 150 healthcare facilities that have been set up from Lakhanpur to the holy cave shrine by authorities are available on the app, including their coordinates and the distance from the individual accessing the app/portal.
A network of over 200 ambulances (including 102 and 108 service) have also been mapped in the app, which pilgrims can access in real-time. By the click of a button, those ambulances that are nearest to the user will get activated and reach the user’s location, which shall also merge with Google Maps for directions and the anticipated time to reach the nearest health facility, Dwivedi added.
The app will soon cover all 3,500 healthcare institutions across the Union Territory and be made available to citizens, Dwivedi assured. He asked officers to map the entire health infrastructure of J&K through this application so that everyone can benefit from the service.
