“Meet the leader of the Dark Forces,” the actress said as she unveiled the motion poster on her social media handle and went on to add, “our Mysterious Queen of Darkness… Junoon!”
In her post, she also wrote, “After 5 years of anticipation, the possibility is now a reality. Kar le sabko vash mein apne, and here ki rani hai. Brahmastra ko haasil karna, yah Junoon ne thaani hai (She is the Queen of) the darkness who can control others, Junoon is determined to procure Brahmastra).”
Fans got a glimpse of Mouni’s villainous side in the teaser that dropped last month. To know more about what’s in store from the action-flick, fans will have to wait until the trailer drops online tomorrow.
Director Ayan Mukerji teased that Mouni’s character was a ‘surprise package’. Praising the actress for her performance, he said, “A lot of people, I think, are going to walk out of Brahmastra, talking about Mouni’s Performance as Junoon. Moun – who has deep belief and deep surrender for Lord Shiva – has always understood Brahmāstra very naturally – and with that understanding, she really killed it with her part in our movie! My first meeting with her, I offered her a ‘special appearance’ in Brahmāstra. Eventually, she shot with us from our first day to our last schedule, and is really, the surprise package in the film!”
As the clock ticks down to the film’s September 9 release, the director has been keeping the hype alive by sharing intriguing character posters of his lead stars. To date, he has introduced fans to Ranbir Kapoor‘s character of Shiva, Alia Bhatt‘s ‘beautiful, fierce and brave’ character Shakti, Amitabh Bachchan as the wise old Guru and Nagarjuna as Anish.
