ETimes had exclusively reported that AR Rahman is going to host a grand wedding reception for daughter Khatija Rahman and son-in-law Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed in Chennai on Friday. Pictures and videos from the event are taking over social media. Several Bollywood celebrities travelled to ARR Film City in Chennai to attend the occasion, which was nothing short of a festive celebration. For the reception, Khatija opted for a gorgeous purple lehenga while Riyasdeen looked dapper in a black suit and bowtie.

Manisha Koirala, Sonu NigamUdit Narayan, director Mani Ratnam, Shekhar Kapur, Honey Singh and several others blessed the newlyweds. Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin also attended the reception. Manisha had shared pictures from the wedding reception, posing with the newlyweds, AR Rahman and his wife Saira Bano. “A.R. Rahman sir’s daughter Khatija’s wedding reception was sheer joy.. meeting my colleagues from here really warmed my heart!! This celebration has added more to already many lovely memories of #chennai!! God bless the newly wed,” Manisha had penned.

While Yo Yo Honey Singh had shared on Instagram, “Best wishes to the blessed couple n congratulations to the whole AR RAHMAN sir’s families n fans !!” Several musician took over the stage to entertain the guests at the event.

An inside video from the reception was shared by singer Abdu Rozik, who crooned ‘Papa Kehte Hain Bada Naam Karega’ on a stage while AR Rahman posed with him.

After getting engaged in January this year, Khatija Rahman tied the knot with audio engineer Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamad on May 5. Giving fans a glimpse of her wedding festivity, Khatija had shared on Instagram, “With the prayers and blessings of my grandparents and our families. On my big day (May 5) with @riyasdeenriyan. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my family and my dearest team.”
